🎉 UPDATE: WE HAVE A NEW VAN!! 🎉
WAIT - WHAT HAPPENED?!
Well, at the end of March, our touring van - driven by Artistic Director Cedric en route home from a conference where he was representing TOTB - got hit by a pickup truck which entered the oncoming lane. 😣 We’re incredibly grateful that Cedric is safe and nobody was hurt, but the ole Beatmobile that carried our artists, sets, and stories across the country for many years was unfortunately toast. See our artists’ farewell send-off to her here!
The timing couldn’t have been worse. On May 2, our team departs on a Western Canada tour of Invisible Threads - our first national tour since 2023. Without a safe and functional touring van, that work wouldn’t have been able to take place. But our amazing community came to the rescue:
Thank you so much for helping us secure new wheels so our team can bring this show to communities across Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia this spring, starting vital conversations about human trafficking, forced labour, global systems of exploitation, and the limits of activism.
If you missed the chance to help us fund our new wheels, never fear: a donation today still goes a heck of a long way toward helping our tours stay sustainable. A gift of any size helps us prepare for the unexpected, and if you donate before May 2nd, you get a shot at helping us name the new van!
Scroll down for options on how to donate online or via mail.
If using the form directly below this text:
1. Select MONTHLY or ONE-TIME donation. Note: the form defaults to MONTHLY.
2. Under SUMMARY, use the dropdown to toggle "15% $X.XX)" to choose OTHER or an additional contribution to the platform. The “contribution toward keeping the platform free”, which the form auto-applies at 15%, is NOT mandatory or required and can be removed by using the dropdown on the bottom right. Removing this will not affect how much of your donation we receive - we still get all of it!
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions.
