Trails Youth Series

Teaching youth about Consent and Healthy Boundaries through theatre.

TOTB’s Education Manager has just finished off a multi-workshop series with Trails Youth Initiatives in Newmarket, ON. The program brings cohorts of vulnerable urban youth from at-risk areas to their camp ground each weekend for an ongoing outdoor survival skills course to learn important life skills.

Murilo has been teaching each cohort, visiting the group since February, proving a total of 7 theatre workshops over a month-long period. Check out the video below for a behind the scene look!

Web of Impact

Providing safe practice space for difficult conversations at Western Univeristy

This month, Cedric, Murilo, and Kay went out to London, ON to present a Forum Theatre scene called “In the Locker Room” at the Web of Impact conference (national knowledge mobilization initiative) hosted by Western University’s Centre for Research & Education on Violence Against Women and Children.

The event brought together 70+ projects from across Canada which have developed promising practices for preventing and responding to gender-based violence. It’s exciting to see theatre (and the arts in general) acknowledged as worthwhile initiatives in creating change.
